Mawhera’s philosophy is one of sustainable farming that integrates environmental stewardship with farm profitability – the ability to produce profitably from the land without causing irreversible damage to the ecosystem. This philosophy enables the farms to operate on semi-autonomous basis but within a leadership framework set by Management and approved by the COM. This framework sets direction, encourages teamwork, synergies, economies of scale and optimum performance. Once a year there is an opportunity for shareholders to visit the farms to look at progress on the farms and discuss the future.
